"Allahu Akbar" — God is Greatest — rendered in sweeping black calligraphy and gilded with genuine 24k gold leaf, flanked on either side by hand-painted sprays of pink and purple tezhip florals.
This is an original, one-of-a-kind work by Aysel Toprak, a master of classical Turkish arts with over 30 years of experience. The bold calligraphic line is set against an aged cream ground, with delicate floral illumination rising from both lower corners and a small gold medallion marking the composition's center — a layout rooted in the Ottoman tezhip tradition of pairing sacred text with botanical ornament. Genuine gold leaf is applied and burnished by hand, a technique passed down through generations of Turkish master calligraphers and illuminators. Set in a custom-built ornate gold frame with cream matting, it arrives ready to hang.
This is a one-of-a-kind original — not a print or reproduction. No two pieces from this hand can ever be identical.
