There is a quiet understanding in traditional Turkish arts:
that true beauty unfolds in its own time.
Ebru, the art of painting on water, is a practice rooted in patience, balance, and acceptance. Colors are gently released onto a liquid surface, where they expand and interact freely before being transferred onto paper. Each composition forms only once — shaped by both intention and chance, never to be repeated.
This piece carries that philosophy.
Among the most beloved floral forms in Ottoman art is the hyacinth — a symbol of elegance, renewal, and quiet strength. Its slender form and rhythmic movement make it especially suited to the fluid language of Ebru, where every line feels alive and in motion.
I made this original Ebru painting by hand — floating each color on water, shaping the hyacinth stroke by stroke, and lifting it onto paper in a single pass. It captures the graceful rise of the hyacinth emerging from layered marbled patterns.
Each piece is entirely one of a kind — impossible to duplicate and shaped fully by hand.
Mounted and prepared for display, it brings a calm, sophisticated presence into any space.
It is not just decoration.
It is a moment of balance — made visible.
