Hand-Painted Embossed Pumpkin Ceramic Plate – Iznik Turkish Pottery, 7.5 Inch Fall Decor

Hand-painted embossed pumpkin ceramic plate, 7.5 inches, Pennsylvania fall inspired and rooted in the Iznik tradition: a handmade piece of Turkish pottery from Artista Noble.

Every autumn, Aysel Toprak travels from Ankara to Philadelphia.

She comes for her grandchildren. But Pennsylvania gives her something unexpected every time — a season that Turkey, in its own Mediterranean rhythm, does not quite offer the same way. The blaze of the maples. The chill in the air that arrives overnight. And the pumpkins — everywhere, in every doorway, on every porch, in every market. A culture of harvest and abundance that she finds genuinely moving.

This plate was born from that encounter.

Hand-painted and embossed at her studio during one of those autumn visits, the design carries the warmth of the Pennsylvania fall filtered through the hands of a Turkish ceramic artist. The technique is rooted in classical İznik tradition — that centuries-old art of clay, color, and kiln that has defined Turkish pottery for generations. But the inspiration, the color palette, the choice of motif: pumpkins, ivy, the deep greens and amber tones of a northeastern fall — these belong entirely to Pennsylvania.
It is a Turkish ceramic that could only have been made here. Each piece travels its own long road. Hand-painted, then glazed and kiln-fired to seal the colors and give the surface its characteristic warmth and depth. The embossed relief catches light beautifully — something no photograph fully conveys.
